St Helens Council are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and adaptable individual to work within the Schools ICT Support team. The Secondary Schools ICT Engineer role provides 1st – 3rd line IT support to the secondary schools in the borough.
On a day to day basis you will take ownership of user problems, provide technical diagnosis and fix any IT issues onsite. In addition, you will also take part in the following day to day activities:
• Resolve 1st - 3rd line technical support queries in line with SLAs
• Support and monitor the LAN and Server technologies.
• Work closely with Senior Secondary School Engineer when required to escalate issues to resolution.
• Maintain user Security on all systems
• Assist with the implementation of new IT technologies and services.

Experienced required:
• Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems and technologies (Server 2019. 2016, 2012, Windows 10).
• Microsoft Applications such as Active Directory, NTFS, RDS and SCCM.
• Office 365 administration would be desirable.
• Patching/monitoring switches.
• Support of AV equipment including interactive whiteboards, projectors, and digital signage.
• General user IT support (printer configuration, desktop software installs, user access) and routine maintenance
• Support to a diverse user base on both hardware and software related issues.
• Support of Apple iOS devices and MDMs would be desirable.
• Previous experience of using an IT Service Desk system for workload management.
The role will may travel between sites so the applicant must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Service coverage hours are Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm. However, this post requires the flexibility to cover service demands as and when required between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Some evening/weekend work will be required from time to time, you must be flexible to accommodate this.
