Making A Difference as a Community Engagement Lead in Policy Change & Reform

St Helens Council is continuing to transform. Major regeneration plans, alongside internal efficiencies and modernisation will place St Helens at the forefront of strategic change and innovation. Delivering change on a large scale requires significant support and investment from communities, ensuring that major plans and strategies are aligned and connected to the needs, wishes and opinions of residents. Stakeholder engagement and empowerment is vital to enable residents to be empowered, residents and to influence and shape future services and plans.

The role of Community Engagement Lead is important for St Helens Council to continue to build and embed strong and effective relationships with residents. Understanding and accessing community cultures, views and needs and translating this into meaningful insight and intelligence will enable the council to continue on delivering fit for purpose services that meet the needs of communities.

We are looking for the strong communicator, someone with flexible and adaptable people skills able to work with diverse groups of people ensuring that engagement is meaningful and empowering. In this role, you will have responsible for delivering several borough-wide events, utilising valuable community and business infrastructure to ensure their success. You will have the ability to secure support and resource from a range of different stakeholders, building strong and robust relationships across the business, voluntary and community network. You will be able to manage resources well, apply creative thinking and working collaboratively internally and externally to secure success in engagement and event management.
