Job Description
Court and Protection Specialist Manager

A new and exciting post has been developed within the Social Work Assessment Service. This post will support the continued developments within St Helens.

The role will be responsible for the management, oversight and development of Child Protection and Court work to ensure that children have the right plan at the right time, and that all plans progress in a timely manner and intervention is effective support children within their families and prevent the need for the plan to escalate.

The Court and Protection Specialist Manager will effectively lead, manage and develop the Public Law Outline, be responsible for the line management of the PLO Co-ordinator and work in partnership across the region to embed the principles and re-launch of the Public Law Outline in respect of pre-proceedings, care proceedings and private proceedings.

The successful applicant will evidence their experience and skills in respect of Child Protection, PLO, Quality Assurance, Court work and the development of services in this area of work to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and families.

You will work to help support the effective and timely delivery of appropriate intervention and support services to children and their families.

The successful applicant will:

Evidence substantial experience of working in Child Protection and clear evidence of working within the PLO and Court Proceedings arena.

Evidence experience of multi-agency working including negotiating and working jointly with a wide range of internal and external organisations.

Have a successful track record of development of services, innovation and providing positive outcomes for children

Be committed to continuous professional development and practice improvement.

Possess strong communication and leadership skills.

Have experience of providing supervision.

Have demonstrable experience of delivering high quality services with positive outcomes.
