Job Description
St Helens Borough Council is an organisation with high ambition, a place full of energy and focus, and with an exciting future ahead. Our vision is to work together for a better borough, with people at the heart of everything we do.

Having embarked on an exciting period of growth and change since 2020, a further review of the Council’s leadership team has recently been undertaken. Central to our future success is the continued transformation and modernisation of our core functions with a view to improving efficiency and customer experience. To deliver on this agenda, we seek a new leader to strengthen and improve the way we work across the whole organisation.

As the new Director of Finance (S151 Officer), you will deliver effective financial leadership and long-term financial stability for the council, ensuring our ambitious plans for growth and development are achieved via maximising funding opportunities, coupled with a commercial approach to the successful delivery of services and to ensure value for money for our residents.
