Job Description
Required: As soon as possible

The Governing Body of St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and caring Teaching Assistant to work within our successful and hard working team. The suitable candidate must be able to support teaching and learning throughout Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

We are seeking a colleague who:

· Is sensitive to the needs of children

· Is able to communicate effectively with children and adults

· Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills and be able to work independently.

· Will be professional at all times

· Will be committed to the safeguarding of the children

The successful candidate will provide support for pupils throughout the school with duties ranging as follows:

· Supporting small groups of pupils with literacy and numeracy interventions

· Supporting the class teacher with the preparation of resources and maintaining a high quality, interactive environment for the children

· Supervision of pupils and promotion of good behaviour.

· Establishing positive relationships with parents/carers.

· Contributing to the ethos of the school and supporting extra-curricular activities and events

· Cover for classes when necessary
