The salary for this post is SCP 23-32 however consideration will be given to an additional £2,000 recruitment and retention allowance upon appointment for experienced Social Workers.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Social Workers and will provide you with a structured programme of training, mentoring and support. In addition, during your assessed and supported year of employment (ASYE) we offer a reduced and protected caseload and additional reflective supervision.
You will be given plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and practice whilst ensuring we maintain the highest safeguarding standards and quality.
Working for Children & Young People Services:
The service has embarked on a wide range of improvement work to improve outcomes for children and families.
You will work to help support the effective and timely delivery of appropriate intervention and support services to children and their families following receiving referrals from the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub. You will be required to undertake assessments to identify levels of need for children and families, and then formulate plans for children for support. You will respond to initial child protection enquiries and provide immediate support to those children at immediate risk of harm, working in close partnership with the police and a wide range of professionals. Working in a duty team the work is fast paced and will provide you with a range of skills in assessment, care planning and working closely with other professional colleagues in supporting children and families.
You will work in a 4-week duty cycle, supporting children and their families up until either their second child in need meeting, first child protection plan, or you may indeed decide to support a step down to a lead professional in early help.
