The Youth Justice Service is seeking to increase the number of sessional support staff who work with young people aged 10-18 and their families. The hours of work will vary from month to month on a needs basis and there will be two hours minimum per 4 week period. The work will be allocated on a monthly basis in addition to some requests at very short notice.
Tasks will include:
· delivering interventions in both a group and individual setting to young people
· transporting young people and/or families to appointments/activities
· supervision and supporting young people undertaking community reparation activities
· supervision and support young people who attend the Attendance Centre
· Undertaking home visits to offer support to young people and their families

The successful candidates will be highly motivated and committed people with good skills in engaging challenging young people and their families. You will be part of a multi-agency team delivering comprehensive youth justice and anti social behaviour services across the St. Helen's area.
You must have some recent experience of working with children or young people in a statutory or voluntary setting.
This post will require evening, weekend and bank holiday working, as the majority of the sessional work will be required at these periods.
