Job Description

This is a permanent position.

Details: We require a teacher to take on the role of SENDCo across school. The successful candidate will join our friendly, talented and caring team that supports our Bleak Hill family in a nurturing and creative setting. As SENDCo the successful candidate will carry a position on the middle leadership team.

Bleak Hill is an inclusive school that puts the needs of the children first. We have excellent relationships with our families and the local community. We have a team of committed, hardworking staff, well behaved, motivated and enthusiastic children and a supportive school community.

We see this post as a key role in helping us to move the school forward on the next stage of our journey. The successful candidate will help us to nurture and promote the emotional well-being of all our children, provide an outstanding education for everyone and join the leadership team in the strategic day to day running of the school.

This role is suitable for current or aspiring SENCos who wish to take the next steps in their leadership journey.

We are looking for somebody who will:
• Be passionate about the provision for our SEN children
• Be an outstanding practitioner
• Share our high expectations for our children and our school
• Be as committed about supporting our families as we are
• Be flexible on a daily basis
• Establish effective relationships with staff, families and other agencies
• Support our inclusive ethos
• Be willing to complete relevant CPD including the National Award for SEN Coordination.
• Have an extensive knowledge of SEN policy and practice
