St Helens Borough Council Cleaning, Caretaking and School Crossing Patrol service are looking to recruit a Mobile Cleaner, to cover primarily for absent Cleaners at Schools and other buildings throughout the Borough.
You will be contracted for a minimum of 20 hours per week. On occasions there will be a requirement for you to work additional hours, dependent upon the needs of the service. The additional hours may be requested at short notice to cover for the absences of Cleaners at Schools and other buildings throughout the borough.
Duties include routine and periodic cleaning in Schools and routine cleaning in other buildings. All duties to be completed within Health & Safety regulations.
Applicants must have the ability to prioritise their work and have good communication skills as the successful candidate will be required to communicate with Head teachers, Site Managers, Caretakers, Cleaners and on some occasions the general public.
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and also in a team environment.
To meet the needs of the service, the successful candidates may be required to cover for absent Caretakers, Senior Cleaners and School Crossing Patrol Operatives, which will be paid at the appropriate rate of pay.
You will also be expected to complete basic paperwork.
Qualifications in Building Cleaning are desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will however be expected to undertake any relevant qualifications.
You must have a current full driving licence and own a car, for which mileage at the appropriate rate of pay will be paid. If an applicant cannot drive as they are precluded by disability applications are still welcome. Applicants are asked to provide a statement as to how they will be in a position to alternatively meet the requirements to enable the duties to be carried out effectively and efficiently with reasonable adjustments.
