Due to the retirement of the previous post holder, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Technical Assistant to work within the busy Children’s Services Finance team.
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and organisational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure are also essential.
Main duties of this post include:
• provision of administrative support to the Principal Accountant for Schools and School Finance Officers;
• provision of financial technical support to school office staff;
• advice and support to schools to monitor/reduce school meals arrears;
• collation of information and statutory returns from schools.
Knowledge of local government financial regulations and procedures and/or experience of working within a school financial environment would be an advantage.
