Job Description
St Helens Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of Transport Planning Assistant. This role will encompass working on innovative and sustainable transport solutions across the borough and provide an opportunity to be involved in place making across the borough.

As a Transport Planner within the Development Plans team you will shape transport solutions across the borough to reflect the opportunities from the Liverpool City Region Transport Plan for Growth, the Liverpool City Region Growth Plan and the Emerging Local Plan for St Helens.

The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate:

· An understanding of economic, social and environmental objectives shaping the transport agenda

· Ability to analyse information and present conclusions in a clear and concise matter

· Ability to work independently but also as a team member

· Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing are important attributes

The role involves working with key stakeholders, including Highways England, Merseytravel and neighbouring authorities, in addition to working in partnership with other teams across the Council.
