Making A Difference as a Scientific Officer (Noise Control) in Environmental Health

Taking a leading role in dealing with Noise Control, the successful applicant will be responsible for responding to commercial, industrial and more complex noise complaints. The post-holder will also be expected to respond to both Planning and Licensing consultation work, attending committees, inquiries and appeals as appropriate.

An effective communicator at all levels, the successful person will have a good working knowledge of noise related legislation and guidance. Other key skills required include a high standard of computer literacy, as well as, the ability to prioritise and respond to fluctuating workloads. In addition, the individual will have the ability to plan and manage complex projects to a satisfactory conclusion.

A degree or equivalent qualification in an Environmental Health, Acoustics or a relevant science, is essential and an additional qualification in Noise Control would be desirable.
