Position required from: 4th November 2024.(or sooner).
Thank you for your interest in the post of full time-pastoral and safeguarding lead at Rectory CoE
Primary School. We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious practitioner who strives for
excellence. We would like to appoint someone who is passionate about our children and ensuring
the highest standards for safeguarding and is prepared to go the extra mile to continually improve
provision and experiences for our children, nurturing and supporting them to become the best
possible versions of themselves.
The successful candidate must be committed to embedding and promoting the Christian ethos of
the school, forming positive relationships with children, staff, parents, governors, and the local
community whilst maintaining high standards and expectations for all.
Our school family and local community are proud of our school, which is underpinned by our
Christian values. We are committed to ensuring that school offers an excellent education for our
children. Our children, staff and governors are a wonderful team. The staff work hard, and a new
member to our school family needs to also share our determination to do our very best and to
support all children to achieve in an environment where they feel safe and supported. In return, we
would offer all the support and training necessary to help the successful candidate to fulfil their
potential and realise their ambitions. We offer a culture of camaraderie between all staff with
relationships built upon trust and understanding. On top of this, joy and laughter are present in
everyday school life.
Rectory is one-form primary school in Downall Green, South Wigan. It is an exciting time to join us
on our journey, shaping our pastoral and personal development offer for our pupils. An important
part of Rectory is our 32 place ASD provision, which is due to expand to 40 places from September
2025.
Rectory is a happy place to work. The children are keen to learn, and they deserve the best. This
permanent, full-time vacancy offers a fantastic opportunity for a creative, positive, inspiring, and
enthusiastic individual to join our team as we continue to move our school forward. The post is
ideally suited to a candidate with previous experience of leading this area of school.
Visits to the school and/or an informal chat with myself or a member of SLT are warmly welcome in
the afternoons up to the deadline. Please contact Mrs Proudfoot, school business manager, to make
an appointment from Monday 2nd September onwards.
All school staff, governors and volunteers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare
of children. The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check
