Making A Difference as an Archive and Heritage Officer in St Helens Library and Archive Services

St Helens Borough Council is seeking someone with proven Archival experience to fulfil the role of Archive and Heritage Officer

This is an opportunity for you to join a nationally renowned, Accredited Archive Service that provides a quality and diverse range of services for its customers.

As Archive and Heritage Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the remaining 12 months of the 2 year NLHF Creative Underground project

Following the completion of the Project, the successful candidate will assist with cataloguing both physical and born digital archive deposits to optimise their discoverability, and accessibility using appropriate software.

Assist with the organisation and promotion of events and activities. Provide content for websites and social media and website to widen access and engagement with the collections and be responsible for the management, supervision, organisation and deployment of staff, and volunteers, including undertaking appraisals, managing absence, performance and conduct as required.

Support the development of funding bids to promote, enhance, restore or explore the borough’s heritage.

Candidates will need to demonstrate:
• Previous experience of managing heritage projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Budget management experience

Successful candidates may be required to work at any Library Service point across the Borough at service need.
