Job Description
We are looking for people who have had previous experience of working in a care setting or who have had personal experience of caring for and understanding the needs of either vulnerable children, adults and older people. You will be required to have good interpersonal skills, work as part of a team.

As a Community Driver / Support Assistant, you will work alongside our passenger assistants, be responsible for the safe transportation of vulnerable children, adults and older people, along with their personal belongings and medical aids, to Council day services, services within the community, care homes, hospitals, and schools and other venues.

With the clientele in mind it is advised, but not essential that your vaccinations are up to date, including being fully vaccinated against COVID 19.

Over the past 2 years our service has had the privilege of being more involved in community initiatives, such as the delivery of food parcels and the roll out of the COVID 19 vaccinations by the vaccination bus. It is vital that all applicants hold a current & valid driving licence, including the D1 category, and it would be helpful to have some experience in driving a minibus. You will be expected to attend the Council’s minibus driver training session and complete a practical driving assessment at the start of your role.
