Making A Difference as a Caretaker in the School Traded Services.

The Caretaking and Cleaning Service within St Helens Borough Council have a vacancy for a Caretaker based at Garswood Primary School.

The hours of work are 25 per week. Your times of work are Monday to Friday from 7.00am - 9.00am and 3.00pm - 6.00pm (Variable to meet the needs of the Service).

The duties consist of basic D.I.Y, minor maintenance and repair. The Caretaker will also have some cleaning duties to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing etc. The successful candidate will be required to undertake training, for example manual handling, ladder training, electrical awareness and any other in-house training that is required.

The Caretaker will be responsible for the care and security of the school premises, which will include opening and closing. The caretaker will also be responsible for alarm response (out of hours), which will be paid at the appropriate rate for call outs.

The Caretaker may, from time to time, be required to work overtime for after school activities for which the appropriate rate of pay will be paid.
