Making A Difference as A Temporary Library Assistant within St Helens Library Service

This is an opportunity to join St Helens Library Service, providing a quality, efficient and reliable service to resident across St Helens.

As a Library Assistant, you will welcome and assist customers of all ages and backgrounds to make effective use of the range of services and facilities. You will assist with processing membership applications, issue, return books and other library materials using the Library Management system; sort, shelve, process and repair stock, contribute to stock checks and other admin duties under the direction of the library manager.

You will also work as part of a team to deliver events and activities such as rhyme times, class visits, craft events and more. You will also assist people to get online and find out information.

We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and who want to make a difference to people’s lives through their local library.

The contract will run until 31st January 2024. Library Assistants are expected to work in any library in St Helens if needed.
