Making A Difference as A Training and Development Officer in St. Helens Council Community Participation Services.

We are currently seeking a Training and Development Officer to support Community Participation Services within Adult Social Care. These services currently include:
1. In House Supported Living Service (CQC Registered Service)
2. Mental Health Floating Support Service
3. Visual Impairment Service
4. Day Services/Opportunities
The role with have a significant focus supporting the CQC registered in-house Supported Living Service, however, will you provide support to the other services identified. You will play a key role in designing, co-ordinating, commissioning and delivering training. You will work closely with the Registered Team Manager, Team Managers, Head of Service and Directorates to identify training needs and skills gaps, providing specialist advice and guidance on appropriate learning solutions.

Working directly to the Registered Team Manager for Supported Living, you will work proactively to design and deliver a high-quality training offer that will support the delivery of key priorities within the assigned areas of work. The offer will reflect our organisational values and behaviours and is aligned to the Council’s Learning & Development Policy.

In this role you will be joining a supportive team at an exciting time, with new initiatives planned to transform our approach to employee performance and personal development, ensuring concordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Skills for Care standards (for the CQC registered service). There will also be an emphasis on maximising the use of the apprenticeship levy to grow and develop our own talent.

You will be a suitably qualified training and development professional, who is also a confident and enthusiastic communicator. You will possess a sound understanding of learning and development and/or organisational development practices and initiatives.

You will be an innovative and creative thinker, with a can-do attitude committed to providing a quality customer service to all. You will work collaboratively to co-design new and creative resources to support our organisation transformation and overcome financial, and people challenges.
