Job Description
Thank you for your interest in working in Sports Development.

Our vision is to create a healthy and physically active borough, where all members of the community are encouraged and enabled to take part in physical and sporting activities. Put simply we want ‘more people, more active, more often‘.

You will be joining an ambitious and innovative team and your role will be to deliver a variety of sport and fitness sessions, as part of the St.Helens Sports Development Team. You will be working with a variety of ages, from primary school pupils up 70+ years, delivering sessions including Couch to 5k (beginner walking/running), beginner fitness, football and general activities as we target the areas of the borough most in need of our support. You will need the following skills:

-Ability and confidence to work with people from a variety of age groups and backgrounds
-Ability to maintain accurate attendance figures
-Provide verbal feedback
-Excellent communication skills
-Empathy and understanding of the barriers to physical activity that people may face
-Qualified to a minimum of National Governing Body of Sport Level 1 or similar award (eg Fitness Instructor)

We are looking for someone who is professional, enthusiastic and who can motivate and enthuse inactive people to take part. If you share our vision and passion for sport and physical activity then we would like to hear from you.

*Interviews will take place via a Teams call.

Start dates will be determined once service and programmes are resumed after current Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.
