The Governors are seeking to appoint a reliable part-time Caretaker to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate should have good communication and customer service skills. Duties include a willingness to work as part of a team and be able to work flexibly to suit the needs of the school.
The hours of work are Thursday and Friday 12p.m. – 6p.m. (30 min break) with an additional 5 hours to be mutually agreed upon. During school holidays, times can vary to suit both parties. Flexibility is required to work additional hours to cover staff absence within our maintenance team
The duties will include:
o Security/Key holding with operation of fire and intruder alarms
o Unlocking and locking the site as required
o Reporting any damage/repairs
o Checking of heating and energy systems and reporting any defects.
o Stock control and safe storage of cleaning and other equipment
o Porterage duties – ensuring compliance with manual handling regulations
o Cleaning/Litter picking. Cleaning spillages and disposing of any associated materials in accordance with waste disposal practices
o Replace lighting tubes/bulbs
o Carry out minor repairs/painting as requested by Headteacher
o Clean and maintain gullies, trap, inspection chambers
o Respond to emergency situations outside normal working hours, if necessary
o To undertake required training
o To comply with and ensure the school complies with the Council’s Health and Safety Policy
