Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Newton-le-Willows Health and Fitness to recruit a highly motivated Swimming Instructor with vision, flair, and excellent customer care skills. The successful candidate will be part of an inspired and successful team of Swimming Instructors, who have a proven track record in achieving high quality results and delivering an excellent service with the support of the Swim England National Plan for teaching swimming.

The successful candidate must be able to complete the fundamentals of the role and should be competent in delivering group swimming lessons and have the right skills set to inspire both children and adults alike.

Ideally, we are looking for an individual with first- hand experience of working within aquatics, someone who enjoys working as part of a team and has excellent communication skills with a good understanding of aquatic service delivery.

If you have the relevant experience plus the ability to maintain a demanding work-load and assist with the development of new initiatives relating to swimming then the position would be ideal for you. You must be flexible in terms of hours of work, and willing to work a shift rota including evenings and weekends.

The posts is based at Newton Le Willows Health & Fitness, however, you may be required to work at any of the other Go Active Sports and Leisure Facilities.

If you hold a recognized swimming teaching qualification, preferably Swim England Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) and have the skills and experience to add value to our team then we would like to hear from you.

Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.

We welcome applications from the BAME community.

For an informal discussion please contact Jane Ascroft @ Newton-le-Willows Health and Fitness on (01744) 677970 or 07716 702167
