Making A Difference as A [Gypsy / Traveller Liaison Officer
The post of Gypsy Traveller Liaison Officer provides an opportunity to make a real difference for the client group.
The successful candidate will act as the initial contact between the Gypsy/Traveller community and the Council and will enable effective management of a Council owned caravan site. This will include allocation of pitches, dealing with resident enquiries, reporting of estate management and repairs issues, collection of service charges and arrears prevention.

The Post holder will promote good community relations within St Helens Borough sites and will work with the Gypsy Traveller community and a range of agencies to support the welfare and meet the needs of the client group.

The ideal applicant will have a working knowledge and experience of housing tenancy support functions and related issues. This will include experience of working with vulnerable / excluded client groups.

This role allows for hybrid working, combining working from home with access to an agile work hub and the undertaking of visits at the Council owned Caravan site and at other sites across the borough.
