We Are St Helens Borough Council

Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a transformational Council which is passionate and ambitious for the communities we support. We provide a wide range of local authority services to the residents, businesses, schools, and visitors to the borough. We can only do this because of our highly valued, highly skilled workforce.

Working together, our workplace vision and values guide our organisation, and the contribution of our workforce is key to our culture journey. Employees with us receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits, ways of working and learning and development support.

Making A Difference as A Business Development Officer in Open Spaces, Environment Waste & Traded Services.

This post represents an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in supporting and delivering the Council’s waste and recycling commercial services to fee paying customers. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is experienced in delivering and selling customer facing services that generate income.

It is an exciting time to join our team as we expand and develop our commercial waste services working with local businesses, schools and residents to provider a wider range of fee paying waste and recycling services. This will help support St Helens ambition to be Net zero as a Borough by 2040.

If you have the passion for helping to improve the environment and support the Council and local businesses to reduce carbon this could be the ideal position for you.

You will play a key role in developing new business opportunities for the Council and will deliver and promote the Councils chargeable waste services. You will manage and deliver these services and develop marketing plans and customer service standards while expanding the customer base and developing new services.
