Job Description
Permanent position required for September 2023

The Governing Body of Mill Green School are seeking to appoint a motivated, extremely committed, highly professional, enthusiastic and extremely effective part time Caretaker to join our hard working, dynamic and enthusiastic team who share our determination to transform the life chances of our wonderful student body.

Mill Green School is a 14-19 age special school. At Mill Green School we understand that enabling positive outcomes for young people facing complex challenges isn’t an overnight fix. The work with the young people isn’t about us; we are a team who are all about the young people, all of the time. The successful candidate won’t be alone in their goal to have a positive impact on the lives of our young people and school; they will have all the support they need from the whole team.

The successful candidate will need to be able to show proven experience of general maintenance. They will possess good communication, be flexible, have excellent organisational skills and will work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate patience and kindness to our students. A knowledge of use of ICT is essential. It is a unique challenge and you will be very much part of a hard-working, dedicated and friendly team.

What we offer:

• A comprehensive induction programme, ensuring that you have the support you need to settle into your role
• A programme of continued professional development including access to coaching and mentoring, an e-learning platform and online training courses. All staff access a rolling programme of role-specific CPD.
• Employee Assistance Programme to support in and outside of school
• To be part of a well-supported, valued team.

The school is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This post is subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Section Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.

We strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit the school and see what we are about; we know that how we fit you is as important as how you will fit us. Visits can be arranged by contacting Stephanie Shipley, our School Business Manager on 01744 678760.
