St Helens Council is seeking to appoint a passionate, skilled, and motivated person to coordinate and manage our award winning and successful Local Cultural Education Partnership, CulturEd. As the Development Officer you will ideally have an arts or cultural background and training to the highest level with experience or appreciation of professional arts practice alongside experience of working with schools, children and young people.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of a wide variety of creative and performing arts, arts practice, and the cultural industries alongside a deep understanding of the school curriculum and the current issues affecting schools. You will have strong organisational and communication skills and will be an excellent negotiator and advocate for the arts with a wide variety of audiences. Key tasks of the role will include:
• creating the annual schools’ offer of support, CPD and practitioner visits
• monitoring the CulturEd budget and seeking additional sources of external income
• evaluating and quality assuring the LCEPs projects and ongoing work of its practitioners and partner organisations
• challenging and supporting schools create a broad and balanced curriculum offer for their pupils within your artistic specialism and commissioning similar work for other cultural curricular areas.
