Job Description

The Governors of Newton-le-Willows Primary School are seeking to appoint a temporary skilled, caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with a hearing impairment. It would therefore be essential for any prospective candidates to hold a British Sign Language (BSL) Level 3 qualification. The prospective candidate should also have work experience in a primary school setting, ideally within Nursery or Reception.

At Newton Primary, you will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils whilst also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.

Candidates must be resilient and reflective of their practice and continuing professional development. Candidates must also be able to work as part of a skilled, well - informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.
