The Governors of this outstanding school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring Learning Assistant to work as part of a team to support children within school. The successful candidate must have recent and relevant experience as a Learning Assistant within Key Stage 1 and has experience of supporting children with ASD/ADHD, SEMH needs and some specific learning difficulties within a KS1 classroom environment. Candidates should be experienced at supporting children, have a passion for working with primary aged pupils to make a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification. You will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. You must have a thorough understanding of phonics and intervention programmes.
The successful applicant must have a flexible approach to duties and working hours will be required, together with a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school.
Candidates must be able to work as part of a skilled, well informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.
