Job Description
Following a Service Review, St Helens is recruiting to several full time, permanent positions within the Legal team. This is an exciting time to join the Council as it pursues its journey of transformation and regeneration of its town centres.

St Helens is ideally located in the Merseyside area with good transport links to the surrounding areas. We are a busy, but friendly and well supported legal team. We have embraced new ways of working and the role will predominantly feature hybrid working, offering a high level of flexibility, allowing staff to take control of their work/life balance.

1 x Legal Assistant - Adult social care
2 x Legal Assistants - Childcare
You will play a key role in supporting and assisting the solicitors in respect of file and case management, bundle preparation, preparing legal documents and providing advice and support to our client departments as required. You will be required to attend court with Counsel when required and take accurate notes of evidence/Judgments. You will have the opportunity to assist with complex care proceedings and/or Court of Protection cases.

We are looking for flexible and adaptable individuals with some knowledge and experience in adults and/or children’s social care. You will be highly motivated, with good communication and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.

Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership.

We welcome applications from the BAME community.
