In July 2022, Ofsted Inspectors returned and confirmed that St Cuthbert’s continues to be a good school.

We seek to appoint an outstanding and experienced teacher who will relish leading the Science department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape, lead and develop Science. This will be an enviable opportunity for someone with vision, energy and the ability to lead and inspire others.

The successful candidate will:
• Have responsibility to lead and manage a team of colleagues in the effective delivery of Science across the age and ability range of the school.
• Be expected, by personal example, to provide motivation and enthusiasm in setting and maintaining the highest standards to achieve success with all students.
• To provide leadership of Science, helping to ensure excellent outcomes for all students
• To lead the development of the Science curriculum so that all students receive a rich and challenging experience of Science
• Be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent
• Ability to teach Science up to Key Stage 4
• Be an effective classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and committed to ensuring all students succeed and fulfil their potential
• Demonstrate a range of innovative teaching and learning strategies
