Job Description

The Governors of St Peter & St Paul Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and caring Learning Assistant to work within our successful and hard-working team.

Start date: Required as soon as possible. (this post is linked to funding and will cease should funding end or in the event the child leaves the school)

We are seeking a colleague who:-
• Is sensitive to the needs of children.
• Is able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Is able to carry out medical care, following a child’s personal medical care plan.
• Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills and is able to work independently.
• Will be professional at all times.
• Will be committed to the safeguarding of all children.


The successful candidate will provide support for a pupil with specific learning needs in EYFS duties as follows:-
• Supporting the pupil to access the EYSFS curriculum.
• Supporting the class teacher with the preparation of resources and maintaining a high quality, interactive environment for the children.
• Promoting good behaviour.
• Establishing positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Contributing to the ethos of the school and supporting with extra-curricular activities and events.
• Supporting the pupil with medical and toileting assistance.
