Making A Difference as a Environmental Control Officer in Regulation Service
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person with the right key skills to work within the Environmental Health Section, whose aim is to protect and promote the public health of people living, visiting and working in the Borough.
Working within a small environmental protection team, the role will be challenging but rewarding and involve the investigation of a wide range of environmental issues- including but not restricted to noise and other statutory nuisance, public health issues associated with the state of land or property, air pollution and drainage issues.
The successful candidate will have the personal qualities required to work round barriers to find solutions to complex problems. An effective communicator, they will possess initiative and be comfortable working alone as well as part of a team to achieve desired outcomes. Collaborating with colleagues in other parts of the Council and also with external agencies will be a key feature of the role.
Whilst advice, support and training will be provided to develop into the role, experience of working with the public in an enforcement role will be an advantage, as will knowledge and experience of dealing with environmental control issues. A good level of computer literacy will be required, as will possession of a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
