Job Description
We are St Helens Borough Council

Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council which is passionate and ambitious for the children and families we support, our communities and our workforce. As part of our transformation journey, we continue to build on our progress and put children firmly at the centre of our care. We can only do this because of our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce.

Making a Difference as Senior Social Worker

At St Helens Council we are committed to improving services for children and young people. We are seeking to recruit a social worker within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) who is passionate about delivering the best possible service to our children. St Helens MASH is a multi-agency partnership including representatives from Health, Police, Education, Housing, CGL and Probation that work together to respond to referrals for children that is most effective and timely.

As a MASH social worker, you will carry out high quality screening of information that includes gathering information from families and professionals and recording it concisely, analysing risk and drawing information together to record an analysis in line with the Signs of Safety Model.

You will work collaboratively with the MASH partners and have confidence in applying the St Helens level of need and recommending outcomes for children.

You will have effective organisational skills and be able to manage a high volume of referrals and prioritise your workload within a speedy timeframe of 1 working day.

You will report to and be supported by the Team Manager with regular supervision and will be given plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and practice whilst ensuring we maintain the highest safeguarding standards and quality.

If you have excellent knowledge of safeguarding and 2 years social work experience and the associated legislation, guidance and practice, this is a great opportunity for you to benefit from working with the St Helens team and being part of growing the vision for improving services to our most vulnerable children.
