Making A Difference as A Senior Secondary School IT Engineer
St Helens Borough Council are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced IT Engineer, to help support the IT services provided to those Secondary Schools supported by St Helens Council.
You must have proven ability with Windows server OS’s, Office 365 Administration, active directory and group policy. You will have experience of supporting end user devices, such as windows PCs, printers and iPads and audio/visual equipment. Some experience of networking is essential, such as patching, basic configuration and troubleshooting. You will part of and supported by the wider St Helens Schools ICT Team.
Any experience of Smoothwall and VMware would be an advantage.
Good customer service skills are essential. Experience of using a service desk is also required.
You must be organised, be able to take ownership of service desk calls and be able to prioritise calls based on impact.
A minimum of three to five years’ experience working in an IT support environment is required.
The ability to communicate at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate written and spoken English, is an essential requirement of this post.
Service coverage hours are, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5.00pm, with a shift pattern of 8am - 4.30 or 8.30 - 5pm as agreed. However, this post requires the flexibility to cover service demands as and when required between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
