Rectory C. E. Primary School is a small primary school on the borders of St Helens and Wigan. It is set in Downall Green, an area with a rich, local history. The school has provided a Christian education for primary children for over 180 years.
The vision of the Headteacher and Staff is a strong one committed to raising the attainment of all, accelerating progress through the collective responsibility of all partners and working very closely with parents and carers. The school has a commitment to inclusion and embraces ability and disability in equal measure. It has a resource base for a number of children with Autism. Children are happy and valued and the Christian ethos is strong.
Ofsted rated the school as 'good' in 2017 and the result of the Anglican Inspection was that the school is outstanding
