The Governors of this outstanding school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring Learning Assistant to work as part of a team to support children with additional needs. The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience as an SEN Learning Assistant, supporting children with ASD/ADHD and some specific learning difficulties, together with a passion for working with primary aged pupils to make a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification and experience of supporting children in the Primary phase who have a range of additional needs. You will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. You will work with Children with SEMH needs and may have to work outside of the classroom. Personal care may be required.
The successful applicant must be willing to take ownership of tailoring learning and resources to the child/children they work with, as well as working as part of a team. A flexible approach to duties and working hours will be required, together with a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school.
Candidates must be able to work as part of a skilled, well informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.
