Job Description
‘God is Our Strength’

Rectory C.E. Primary School is a primary school situated on the border of St. Helens and Wigan. It is set in Downall Green, an area with a rich local history. The school has provided a Christian education for primary school children since 1839.

The vision of the Head Teacher and Staff is a strong one committed to raising the attainment of all, accelerating progress through the collective responsibility of all partners, and working very closely with parents and carers.

Rectory School has a nursery and an ASD & MLD resource base for a number of children with Autism and those with Moderate Learning Difficulties. The School is strongly committed to inclusion and embraces ability and disability in equal measure. Children are happy and valued and the Christian ethos is strong.

Ofsted rated the school as “good” in 2017 and the SIAMS report was ‘’outstanding’’ in 2017.

The Head Teacher retired in August 2020. The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding successor who will embrace the ethos of the School and ensure that it continues to be an inclusive Christian Community supporting the needs of the unique individuals within it.

School visits can be arranged by calling the School Office on 01744 678470.
