Making A Difference as a Senior / Social Worker in the Later Life Team

St Helens Borough Council has exciting opportunities for a number of Senior Social Worker/Social Worker/ASYE to join the Later Life, Disability, Mental Health, DOLS and Review Team.

The Team works with Individuals age 67+ with Physical and Sensory Disabilities, a Diagnosis of Mental Health problems, Dementia and age-related support needs.

Candidates must have experience in undertaking Social Care Assessments, identifying eligible needs and outcomes and the Care Planning Process. The identification of carers and completing Joint Carers Assessments are also an essential part of the role.

Experience of the role of Enquiry Practitioner in Safeguarding Adult cases is vital, as is an understanding of the Mental Capacity Act regarding Best Interest Decisions.

You must possess a relevant Social Work qualification - CQSW, DIPSW, CSS or a Degree in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England.

An additional £1,500 (pro rata) Recruitment & Retention allowance will be paid for experienced Social Workers SCP 26 - 32, subject to annual review.

Candidates must also possess a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

In return we offer a supportive team with regular Supervision, training and appraisals.
