An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to manage the Council’s newly formed Information Governance, Complaints and Compliance Team. The Team operates at the heart of the organisation in Policy, Change & Reform and is responsible for the Council's compliance with all legislation relating to Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Records Management, Environmental Information and adults and children’s complaints.
As the Team Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Council meets the requirements of GDPR and other information governance and regulatory requirements. We encourage applications from those who are not yet qualified but have experience in at least one of the following areas: Information Governance, Data Protection or GDPR.
This is a key role within the Council and the successful candidate will be responsible for the Information Governance, Complaints and Compliance Team, which covers areas including Data incidents, Subject Access Requests, FOI, policy writing, children’s and adults’ complaints and advising on all aspects of Data Protection, Confidentiality and Security to support compliance with legislation and best practice.
In this role the post holder will undertake the delegated duties of the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You will be expected to support the organisation with data protection compliance including investigating data breaches, data sharing, data protection impact assessments and providing advice and guidance. You will promote compliance and best practice in all aspects of data protection and information governance.
