This post represents an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in supporting the Council’s response to the declaration of a climate emergency. Working under new leadership in the Place Operations Department the successful candidate will be working across the entire Council and with many external agencies to co-ordinate all activity linked to making St Helens a Net Zero borough by 2040. If you have the passion for helping to improve the environment and want to work in a newly created fast paced role then this could be the ideal position for you.
Strong project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively is more important than having specific technical knowledge for this role. The successful candidate will need to be able to build and develop relationships and work across multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. As a newly created post this really is a great opportunity for you to shape and influence how St Helens successfully responds to the climate emergency.
Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
We welcome applicants from the BAME community.
