St Helens Council is seeking to appoint 6 self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious Trainee Accountants to support the Finance Section, whilst undertaking study towards the CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification. The qualification will provide the full range of skills and competencies required for a successful finance career in St Helens Council.
The role will be based within various sections of the Council’s Finance function and will mean that duties will be diverse. As a trainee accountant, the successful candidate will be expected to support the overall financial management and control environment of the Council.
The successful applicant will have excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines and to respond to the ad-hoc needs of the service. The ability to analyse financial data and identify trends is a key skill of the role.
