Job Description
Working on behalf of all 6 Local Authorities in the Liverpool City Region, this recently created post will help to review how the waste generated by more than 750,000 homes is managed. With resources and waste currently being subject to various national policy changes and playing an increasingly integral part of the response to the climate emergency this is a unique and exciting opportunity.

The role will be hosted by St Helens Borough Council, but very much working strategically and collectively across the Liverpool City Region including with our partners at the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority.

We need someone with strong programme management skills and an ability to communicate well and develop strong relationships across multiple organisations, at a senior level. You need to be a self-starter, be prepared to learn quickly and have strong financial and commercial acumen.

The review programme is wide ranging and will comprise of multiple projects. These range from ensuring that maximum value is being secured through our existing arrangements; to preparing and responding to imminent national changes. We also want to reduce the carbon impact of our waste services and you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering how we do this.
