We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Health Protection Specialist to support the Consultants in Public Health to deliver and oversee our local Health Protection functions in St Helens, for the next 12 months.
This role is to mainly cover the capacity needed during the Covid19 response for a range of health protection functions. You will help us to deliver the statutory health protection and assurance roles, including emergency planning, infection control commissioning and winter/flu planning. You will have oversight of the health protection functions across partners in St Helens, as well as contributing to local arrangements for covid-19 outbreak management, taking part in local outbreak on-call and rota arrangements as required.
You will will have senior level responsibility for the delivery of health protection at a population level, working with the Consultants in Public Health to maintain an overview on all health protection activities in the borough and reporting to the Health Protection Board.
We have flexible ways of working in place in St Helens. You will be able to work virtually from home and will be part of a forward-thinking public health team that sits within the Integrated Health and Care directorate, which also includes the CCG and Adult Social Care.
