Job Description
We are St Helens Borough Council
Located in the heart of the North-west close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council, which is passionate and ambitious for the children and families we support, our communities and our workforce. As part of our transformation journey, we continue to build on our progress and put children firmly at the centre of our care. We can only do this because of our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce.

Making a Difference as an Intervention Development Officer with St Helens Youth Justice Service.

Support the work of the Youth Justice Service in preventing offending and re-offending by children and young people. To work as an integral part of the case management team, supporting case managers to fulfil their statutory role of managing children on Court Orders and Out of Court intervention programs, as well as those we work with through our preventative programs. Supporting staff to deliver interventions using a trauma-informed approach and group work with children who have Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).

Delivering both 1:1 and Group work interventions to both young people open to the service, as well as part of our prevention offer to schools through assemblies and small group sessions. Supporting sessional staff in the delivery of interventions at our Attendance Centre and assisting with delivery and data analysis of any commissioned services targeted at working with young people to reduce offending or anti-social behaviour.

To develop and catalogue our library of resources and to build a comprehensive program of group-work in relation to local need and recording engagement and data in relation to the cohort and effectiveness of groups and interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. You will receive continuous support, development, and career progression opportunities on your journey with us. The posts include some home working but will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas.
