The Governing Body of Mill Green School are seeking to appoint a motivated and extremely effective Learning Assistant to join our hard working, dynamic and enthusiastic team who share our determination to transform the life chances of our wonderful student body.

At Mill Green School we understand that enabling positive outcomes for young people facing complex challenges isn’t an overnight fix. The successful candidate will be a committed and enthusiastic individual, who is ready to start every day with a fresh outlook and welcome the young people into their learning and social development opportunities. The work with the young people isn’t about us; we are a team who are all about the young people, all of the time. The successful candidate won’t be alone in their goal to have a positive impact on the lives of our young people; they will have all the support they need from the team.

The successful candidate will need to be able to build trusting relationships with our young people to help them manage the learning challenges of the day. At Mill Green we all wear different hats here and in order for our young people to succeed. The role is essential to the support and development of our young people, enabling them to achieve success in a safe and caring learning environment. The role holder will build a professional and trusted relationship with young people that puts their health, safety and development at the centre of their practice. Flexibility is key in this role and may include working 1:1 with young people where required, or leading or supporting in a small group or class setting.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding, reflective and resourceful practitioner who is dedicated to making their practice the very best it can be. They will be committed to developing exceptional SEN education, taking a solution-focused and positive approach, with a passion about their work and the impact they have on improving outcomes for all learners, regardless of their educational needs or ability.
