Job Description
Working as part of the Schools ICT service at St Helens Borough Council, you will be a hands-on Infrastructure Lead, who is a team player and is able to lead and support others. You will directly manage one other senior infrastructure engineer.

This is primarily a technical role, but you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of the Schools IT strategy and the review of new technologies understanding how they support the roadmap to enhance the IT services for schools.

There is a drive to review and transition services to cloud or hosted environments with a real emphasis placed on the use of Microsoft 365 to replace many of the current services in play currently.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference to the changing needs of IT and Digital services across schools and you will get exposure to many technological areas to further develop your skillsets and add to your existing infrastructure experience.

Technologies you will work with

Windows Server, Azure AD and on-prem AD services, Solarwinds, Fortigate Firewalls, Office 365 and other Microsoft 365 products, Aruba WLAN, VMware and Vcentre, Hyper-V, SAN technologies including Equal-logic. LAN and VPN network support and management. RDS, Veeam.
