Making A Difference as an Advanced Public Health Practitioner in the Children’s integrated Commissioning Team
An exciting development opportunity has become available for an ambitious public health practitioner looking to take the next step to develop their career and make a difference to children and young people’s public health. We are looking for a passionate, high motivated and innovative public health practitioner, and we would welcome and encourage applications from specialist children’s public health nurses, such as health visitors and school nurses. We recognise and value your specialist training, knowledge and insights in children’s health and wellbeing, therefore this is a unique opportunity to be supported to develop new and rewarding skills in commissioning, strategy development, partner working and leadership.
You will join a small but established children’s integrated commissioning team which includes NHS and Local Authority children’s commissioners each with their own lead programme areas. As the lead for children’s public health, you will lead on the design, implementation and monitoring of the 0-19/25 Healthy Child Programme in St. Helen’s, working closely with the well-respected local Public Health team. You will also provide strategic leadership and advocacy to influence health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and their families through collaborative partnership working.
In return, you will be supported and encouraged to develop and achieve your career aspirations, with regular supervision from knowledgeable and experienced senior NHS commissioners and Public Health leads. Mentoring and coaching is also available, with ongoing continuous professional development to help you fulfil your role and personal development plan objectives.
