Required as soon as possible, a Level 3 Senior Learning Assistant; to work in the Key Stage 3 Pupil Referral Unit In St Helens based at The Beacon Building.
Pupil Referral Units are for pupils at risk of exclusion from mainstream school who are experiencing Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. There are also permanently excluded pupils in attendance. The person appointed will support the development and achievement of pupils in attendance at Launchpad Key Stage 3. A number of pupils are dual registered with the PRU’s and their mainstream school. The remainder are single registered with the P.R.U. due to permanent exclusion. This support may involve one to one, in class, or in attendance at Outdoor Education activities.
Enthusiasm, a good team ethic and an understanding of working with pupils with challenging behaviour is essential. Experience of working with vulnerable young people is an advantage.
We hope to employ a candidate who is a good classroom practitioner, and who will help us to improve the academic and social progress of our pupils.
