Job Description
We Are St Helens Borough Council

St Helens is a transformational Council, which is passionate and ambitious for the communities we support. We provide a wide range of local authority services to the residents, businesses, schools, and visitors to the borough. We can only do this because of our highly valued, highly skilled workforce.

Working together, our workplace vision and values guide our organisation, and the contribution of our workforce is key to our culture journey. Employees with us receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits, ways of working and learning and development support.

We are continuing to embark on highly ambitious and exciting change and transformation programmes and looking to expand and develop our corporate programme management office, by strengthening capacity and skills through dedicated resource.

Making A Difference as A Programme Manager
We are seeking an experienced programme manager with technical project management skills and the ability to manage multiple and complex projects, liaising proactively with important external and internal stakeholders. As a priority, you will lead on our residential children’s homes programme which will see the establishment of several major residential schemes across the borough. Our ambition is to provide safe, nurturing and supportive homes for our most vulnerable children, and we want you to help us achieve this.

In this role, you will be expected to take over leadership of the programme, understand and adapt to the existing programme requirements and utilise and build upon existing tools and resources to secure successful delivery. This has the potential to offer great rewards, for you as a professional, for the organisation and for the borough’s most vulnerable children and young people.
