St Helens Council Careline Service offers residents of St. Helens a monitoring and response service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are looking to recruit to a 37-hour post with the Careline Service.
Careline Officers are trained to assess what type of assistance service users require, this could be calling family/key holder, Emergency Services or alternatively dispatching an officer to a service users’ home to offer assistance.
In an emergency you will respond to service users' personal care needs in a caring and sensitive manner, respecting their dignity and privacy. Maintain their right to be independent and make choices even if a degree of risk occurs.
You will monitor service users in sheltered housing accommodation in the absence of the Scheme Manager by way of the control centre or by a personal visit.
Staff currently work a three-shift system on a ten-week rolling rota, which includes weekends and Bank Holidays.
Previous experience in a Control room and/or Care setting is required.
If you feel you can work both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and on your own, this post will suit you. You should also be willing to learn new skills and participate in identified training programmes to enable you to work in new ways.
