The Council is working closely with our partners in health to develop innovative solutions to enable us to effectively and promptly respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. One such initiative is the establishment of a multi-disciplinary local Testing and Tracing service, which will play a vital role in our aims to reduce the numbers of residents infected with Covid-19 and progress a return to normal day-to-day life for all in St Helens.
The remit of the Test and Trace service is to administer the control and management of infection in complex settings such as local schools, care homes, workplaces and hostels, utilising local, regional and national intelligence. The service may also be involved in the multiciliary approach to supporting individuals with complex needs to access testing and to support to self-isolate.
St Helens Cares is the new approach to delivering Health and Social Care in St Helens; bringing together a wide range of public and community service organisations to work in partnership, with a united goal of improving people’s lives and improving the place as a whole. St Helens Council is proud to be part of this partnership.
Key to this vision is Contact Cares; which aims to simplify the way we access health and social care services from nursing assessment to social care; Reablement to Audiology, Safeguarding to Occupational Therapy.
Based at the Whiston Hospital site this Assistant Team Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to build on the sound working practices and relationships between our hospital based teams and the community.
You will be supervising a team of staff and will support the other managers within the Contact Cares, to deliver a high quality service to our service users and families.
The role will provide a key link in providing and communicating accurate and up to date information to Partners. You will work closely with the Infection, Prevention and Control Team, Public Health England and Contact Cares.
You will confidently be able to work on your own initiative, juggle a busy workload and build strong working relationships. You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to demonstrate credibility with professionals from partner agencies.
